House Democrats plan marathon public reading of Mueller report

Pelosi told reporters in the Capitol that the contempt citation against Barr will come to the full House for a vote "when we're ready" and warned President Trump this may not be the end of his war with Congress.

"Look", he said, "I think if you fine someone $25,000 a day to their person until they comply, it gets their attention". Clearly, Democrats expect that quizzing Mueller about those dirty details will make for some explosive soundbites ready to be loaded into campaign ads for 2020.

The committee wants McGahn to address the report by special counsel Robert Mueller, in particular, the part of the report that says that President Trump asked McGahn to fire Mueller, a request McGahn refused to carry out.

Instead, he reserved judgment on whether Trump should be indicted and asked Attorney General William Barr to make the final call on the matter.

The administration so far has defied all subpoenas and requests from Congress, leading to more potential court fights. Through counsel, McGahn informed the committee on May 7 that he would not comply with the subpoena on the basis that he "continues to owe certain duties and obligations to the president which he is not free to disregard".

Mehta was appointed in 2014 by former Democratic President Barack Obama, who was investigated nearly non-stop by Republicans in Congress during his two terms in office.

In February 2018, Trump pressured McGahn to deny a news report that the president had pressured him to help oust Mueller.

McKegg was pushed into Rask by Kempfer and the net was dislodged, but the puck crossed the goal line before any contact was made. Columbus hit the crossbar three times: Pierre-Luc Dubois in the first period, and Dean Kukan and Josh Anderson in the second.

The House Oversight Committee claims sweeping investigative power and says it needs Trump's financial records to examine whether he has conflicts of interest or broke the law by not disentangling himself from his business holdings as previous presidents did.

"This wouldn't matter for our purposes", Neal spokesman Daniel Rubin said about the NY state bill.

"You can't have a privilege - an executive privilege - when you're not the executive", Schiff, a California Democrat, said.

Others suggested they should wait for Mueller to testify before Congress before deciding whether to launch proceedings, or table discussion of impeachment ahead of the approaching presidential election.

Mr. Conway claims the American people have a right to see the complete Mueller report. They were previously the top Democrats on the panels.

Some Democrats signaled that moment could be approaching quickly.

"The American people have a right to hear what the man who did the investigation has to say and we now know we certainly can't rely on the attorney general who misrepresented his conclusions", Schiff said on "This Week" Sunday.
