During the stop, an officer asked the woman if she had anything else on her person, police said in a statement.

A Florida woman shocked police officers on Monday when she proceeded to pull a foot-long alligator from her yoga trousers during an early morning traffic stop.

When they asked Machan-Le Quire if she had anything else on her, she reportedly pulled a foot long live alligator from her yoga trousers. But when they searched Machan-Le Quire's backpack, they discovered "41 small turtles".

The woman was riding with a 22-year-old man who deputies said rolled through a stop sign in Punta Gorda, leading to the traffic stop. The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office posted pictures of the incident on Twitter, and they show numerous turtles and the alligator confiscated from the couple.

NBC Miami called the incident an "only in Florida" moment.

Last month, the House Judiciary Committee subpoenaed McGahn seeking documents by Tuesday and for him to testify on May 21. Cicilline said there has not been "compliance yet" from the attorney general. "The American people deserve the truth".

The woman was cited for possession and bag limit violations for all three species, which are native to Florida but are regulated. To which she replied by retrieving the scaly critter from her pants - because this is Florida.

The reptiles were seized by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and then released, the outlet reported.

The sheriff's office shared a photo of the little gator on their Facebook page, along with a dryly humorous summary of the wild encounter.

But in this case, she tells PEOPLE, "Sometimes the deputies just give me good material".
