William "Rick" Singer, 58, pleaded guilty on Tuesday to charges related to running the scheme through his Edge College & Career Network, which charged from $100,000 to as much as $2.5m per child for the services, which were masked as contributions to a fake charity Singer runs.

According to an indictment filed on Tuesday by the United States Attorney for the District of MA, the actress, her husband Mossimo Giannulli and dozens of other parents - including Desperate Housewives vet Felicity Huffman - allegedly bribed college entrance-exam administrators to allow cheating on the tests and university athletic coaches to designate school applicants as athletic recruits, regardless of athletic ability or experience playing a sport. She will be released after her afternoon court appearance on a signature bond with a guarantee she'll appear in court.

Huffman was arrested at her home by armed Federal Bureau of Investigation agents and was later released on bail after her husband, Shameless actor William H.

"Desperate Housewives" star Felicity Huffman and former "Full House" actress Lori Loughlin were among the 46 people charged in the $25 million college entrance exam cheating scheme on Tuesday.

Loughlin's arrest comes after she openly admitted her girls were feeling pressured academically. Loughlin's husband, fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli, was released in Los Angeles after posting a US$1 million bond.

Loughlin and Huffman are just two of 50 individuals who have been indicted for paying up to $6 million to secure their children spots in top college universities in the nationwide scandal. Administrators working at the testing centers were allegedly paid to look the other way.

She has lately become the queen of the Hallmark Channel with her holiday movies and the series "When Calls the Heart".

No students were charged, with authorities saying that in many cases the teenagers were unaware of what was going on.

"Very proud of my honest, hardworking sons", actor Rob Lowe tweeted, alongside a throwback photo that his 24-year-old son, John, shared upon graduating from Stanford University, while Lena Dunham added: "All the people involved in this college scam should have gathered their money and started a small elite college where Lori Loughlin teaches a class on smiling..."

The Emmy victor, 56, was among 46 wealthy folk whom the authorities said had resorted to fraud, bribes and lies to get their children admitted to elite colleges. None of the children were charged on Tuesday.
