Although Tyler Johnson plays nowhere near the value of his contract, the Miami Heat developed Johnson from a little regarded twenty-one year old into a part of Heat culture.

While trading for Anderson at first glance looks like the Heat go further into the luxury tax with his salary this season being $20.4 million the money the team saves comes in other ways.

Ellington's agent, Mark Bartelstein, is attempting to get the Suns to waive his client and allow the guard to join a playoff contender, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported.

No draft picks were involved in the trade, with the Heat previously having sent two first-round picks to the Suns in 2015 for guard Goran Dragic.

San Francisco are no strangers to pursuing big names, having been major players for Shohei Ohtani and Giancarlo Stanton last offseason.

Philadelphia is expected to keep a close on what the future holds for the ex-Miami Heat member.

The 26-year-old Johnson is in his fifth National Basketball Association season. He is playing on a one-year, $6.2 million contract. At the time it was a necessary evil for the Heat to match the four-year $50 million restricted offer sheet the Brooklyn Nets gave to Johnson in the light of Wade's bitter departure to the Chicago Bulls. His smile with missing teeth will not be forgotten.

Ellington, 31, is in his 10th National Basketball Association season. He's in his 5th National Basketball Association season.

Anderson is averaging 3.7 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game for Phoenix. He has appeared in 44 games (10 starts) this season averaging 10.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 25.5 minutes while shooting 42.6 percent from the field. After that lone season in New Jersey, he played three seasons for the Orlando Magic.
