Apple to release three new iPhones amid struggling sales

  • Apple planning to launch three new iPhones in 2019

The lower end models will each have dual camera lenses, an update for the XR successor.

Confirming earlier reports, WSJ sources noted that Apple's 2019 iPhones have already advanced in their development "to a point where major features can not be changed, easily, [although] it isn't completed".

Honestly, it's too early to tell but there are some indicators that tell me the new iPhones might be a worthwhile upgrade over the current gen, especially in the camera department. However, much of what has appeared in WSJ is interesting and can not be just overlooked.

The Apple iPhone XI Max will lead the way with its previously rumoured triple-camera system on the rear. It's likely that the model in the renders is the highest-spec XS Max follow-up, but this has not been confirmed. Currently, the iPhone XR is the only model that doesn't have 3D Touch and instead has Haptic Touch, a feature that uses long-display presses and haptic feedback to evoke new actions.

It has barely been three months since Apple introduced three new iPhones- the iPhone XR, the iPhone XS and the iPhone XS Max- that reports of company's 2019 iPhone models has already started buzzing on the internet. And if Apple doesn't want a repeat of last year's iPhone XR, they probably might want to build some exciting features for the cheaper iPhone.

That led Apple to aggressively market the iPhone XR on its United States website for $449 (€391), about $300 less than its official sticker price. Given the recent decline in iPhone sales, that means it might be until 2020 when we really see what lessons (if any) Apple has taken from recent events.

It would be the second time in as many months that the company has slashed output.

Chinese retailers are slashing prices for iPhones, in what analysts see as a fresh sign that the company may be struggling to shift the handsets in the expected numbers. The company has to consider a multitude of factors from the perspective of existing and potential customers, investors and Apple itself, the situation is certainly very complicated and there are no easy answers. "Or, Apple might be under pressure to clean out its stock of iPhones", he said.
