James Corden let Barbra Streisand drive him to work during Thursday's new Carpool Karaoke instalment on The Late Late Show.

Streisand gives Corden a lift when his own auto gets clamped, and the two belt out her hits like 1979's "No More Tears" and 1973's "The Way We Were" during the drive.

Streisand also humble-bragged about her powerful tech friends.

Streisand was nominated for a Tony in 1962 for I Can Get It For Your Wholesale and then again in 1964 for Funny Girl. "I get scared, I just don't want to disappoint people", Streisand admits.

She's in the driver's seat! You'd think after 50 years, people would pronounce it correctly!

The driver took his right arm off the steering wheel and fought back, grabbing the woman's arm when she attacked him again. As the quarrel escalated, the statement said, the woman hit the driver on the head with her cellphone.

Streisand has battled stage fright most of her career, which once led to her taking a 27-year hiatus from touring.

"I've been driving for a long time, but I haven't driven recently because my mind is twirling and sometimes - well, not anymore on the phone, but it used to be", she said. "'How did you die?' 'Barbra Streisand'". "Is that possible?'" she said, noting that he complied.

Later, Streisand recounted the chestnut about how she hailed the ultimate Apple customer support - as in company chieftan Tim Cook himself - when she anxious that Siri was teaching people to mispronounce her last name. "I called the head of Apple, Tim Cook, and he delightfully agreed to have Siri change the pronunciation of my name, finally, with the next update".

Said Corden: "This is not what I need to hear right now".
