  • Kim Kardashian teaming up with Trump again to get more felons released

Reality TV star Kim Kardashian made her second visit to the White House this year to talk criminal justice, months after she successfully appealed for the release of a great-grandmother convicted of cocaine trafficking.

And now Kim wants to do it again for Chris Young, who was sentenced to life in prison for marijuana and cocaine possession after being arrested in 2010, because she thinks it's "unfair" that he was given such a harsh sentence.

The "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" star was proud of herself earlier this year when she managed to convince President Donald Trump to pardon Johnson - a 63-year-old grandmother who was thrown behind bars in 1997 on money laundering and drug conspiracy charges - after she employed a team of lawyers to defend her.

Others at the meeting include Kushner, Van Jones and Judge Kevin Sharp, who sentenced Young.

Kushner has been an advocate of prison and sentencing reform, championing a compromise bill crafted in the Senate.

Kim Kardashian is seen entering the grounds of the White House on May 30, 2018 in Washington, DC.

One week after Kardashian West's visit, Trump granted Johnson clemency, freeing her from prison after a more than two-decade stint on drug charges.

"It's so unfair. He's 30 years old. We have to change the laws", Kardashian West said in a statement released by #cut50, a group that looks to reduce incarceration time.

Kardashian, a mainstay of the gossip pages, told the "Wrongful Conviction" podcast on Tuesday the case caught her attention.

In May, Kardashian West met with President Trump in the Oval Office to talk about prison reform and clemency for Alice Marie Johnson. Thank you so much for that, ' one of the followers posted.

Sharp also said that he would work to get Young's sentence commuted. "I get stacks of letters daily that inmates write me, so I love to read them and go through them and hear their stories". "Everyone who knows me knows that I'm so passionate about it".
