On Thursday morning, Samsung took to the stage at the Barclays Center in New York City to officially announce the Galaxy Note 9. Pricing starts at $999.99 so it is not for the faint of wallet or purse, however there are buy one, get one (BOGO) offers available at Best Buy to significantly soften the blow.

The Galaxy Note 9 will be released on 24 August, at a price of £899/$1,000 for the version with 128GB or storage and 6GB RAM, and £1,099/$1,250 for the 512GB/8GB RAM option. Customers will get a chance to own a Samsung Gear Sport smartwatch for Rs.4,999 instead of the actual cost price of Rs.22,990. The Galaxy Note 9 wields a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED display with a 2960x1440 resolution (18.5:9 aspect ratio), 83.4 percent screen-to-body ratio, and HDR support, and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It will be available in Midnight Black, Metallic Copper, Ocean Blue and Lavender Purple color variants. With an extra 512GB SD card, users can expand the storage to 1TB. The Galaxy Note 9 also comes pre-loaded with Samsung apps like Samsung Health, Samsung Pay, and the Knox security platform.

And the Note9 itself, it's on Samsung's official online shop and you can pre-order the from now until August 21. The AI software detects blurred images, bad lighting and stains on the lens.

The new Note 9 indeed boasts powerful performance in terms of battery capacity. For shooting selfies, it is equipped with autofocus enabled f/1.7 aperture 8-megapixel camera. Samsung gives you a discount today and then forces you to prove it later by sending your phone in after your new Note 9 arrives.

Perhaps the device's most interesting feature is the AI-powered Flaw Detection, which aims to let you know if images aren't quite as good as they could be. The phone also comes paired with fast-charging technology compatible with both wired and wireless charging.

Samsung Galaxy Note 9 camera specs has a dual 12MP Camera and 8MP Front Camera. There's also a souped-up S Pen that can control your phone remotely, and some AI smarts in the camera app, but it didn't bring the kind of enhancements and innovations that the Note line is known for.

The device runs Android 8.1 Oreo OS, the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset for the U.S. customers and the models powered by Samsung's very own "Exynos 9 Series 9810" chips will head to the rest of the world, including India.

It also comes with a Bluetooth-enabled stylus created to act as a remote for snapping photos and controlling YouTube video playback.
