The Trump legal team suggested several weeks ago limiting some topics to written questions and doing an interview more on collusion, as CNN has previously reported.

U.S. Justice Department Special Counsel Robert Mueller wants to interview Emin Agalarov, an Azerbaijani-Russian pop star and former son-in-law of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, a lawyer for Agalarov says.

Sessions delegated authority over the election investigation after recusing himself to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who in May 2017 appointed Mueller special counsel to the probe.

In a series of tweets Wednesday morning, Trump said Sessions should stop the Mueller probe, which he again labelled as "Rigged Witch Hunt". He also called it a "a disgrace to USA".

Adam Schiff, the top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, said the tweet was "an attempt to obstruct justice hiding in plain sight" and that "America must never accept it".

The New York Times reports Robert Mueller's Russian Federation team is scrutinizing the president's tweets, examining whether tweets plus private pressure on top justice officials like Attorney General Jeff Sessions equal obstruction of justice. "The president has expressed the same opinion", Giuliani told Reuters.

So if Mueller finds evidence that the 2016 Trump campaign worked with a foreign power to sway the election, then conspiracy - not collusion - would be the charge.

The local stargazers are invited for a camp to witness the Red Planet from 7 pm to 10 pm tonight at the Colombo Campus grounds. It can be seen by the naked eye, but try looking with a good set of binoculars if you don't have a telescope handy.

In the past, Trump has privately pressed Sessions to end his recusal and take control of the Mueller probe, according to people familiar with the discussions. They have been prepared to tell Mr. Mueller's office there will be no interview, risking a court fight over a subpoena that could drag into November's midterm elections, but Mr. Trump pushed them to continue negotiating.

Seperately, U.S President Donald Trump said that he would allow the federal government to shut down if Democrats refused to back his demand to build a wall at the Mexico border and other significant changes to immigration laws.

"The Agalarovs were not aware and had and have no reason to believe that the President knew the Trump Tower meeting was happening or that it happened before it was publicly disclosed", Balber said. It follows a meeting last week of the National Security Council on election security, the first Trump has led on the matter, which lasted less than an hour and produced no new orders on how to counter or deter the interference. Trump accepted Putin's denials despite the intelligence community's conclusion that Russian Federation interfered in the 2016 election, though the president later conceded there was interference.

Trump said last summer he would have chosen a different attorney general had he known Sessions would recuse himself from supervising the investigation of election interference.

"I've said all along I see no evidence of collusion".

"Just because @realDonaldTrump obstructs justice in full public view by calling on Sessions to interfere in Mueller investigation doesn't mean it's not obstruction of justice".

Trump asked whether his former top political aide was being treated worse than Al Capone, tweeting that Manafort is "now serving solitary confinement - although convicted of nothing?"

Litman, meanwhile, told anchor Brooke Baldwin that he would construe Trump's tweet as a command.
