Root admitted to receiving some friendly abuse from his England team-mates after his "embarrassing" celebration, and confessed he would have taken it back if he could.

Joe Root became England´s all-time leading one-day worldwide century-maker as an innings of exactly 100 not out on his Headingley home ground saw the hosts to an eight-wicket victory over India on Tuesday and a 2-1 series win.

Meanwhile, England won the decider by 8 wickets to seal the series 2-1.

"I don't think it will be the last I hear of it from the group - they've been hammering me".

Root's Yorkshire colleagues David Willey and Adil Rashid took three wickets apiece as the tourists were restricted to 256 for eight.

"We started poorly (but) as the series has gone on we have improved, it is a benefit of playing a bilateral series".

The 37-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman was seen seeking the ball from the umpires as the players left the ground after India lost the match by eight wickets and the series 1-2.

That led police to a trailer park in Grabill, Indiana, where they found used condoms in a garbage outside Miller's home. The first-grader's body was found by a jogger three days later in a ditch along a road in southern DeKalb County.

Root was yet again the tormentor-in-chief, scoring a second century in as many games and becoming the top run scorer in the series as a result.

"He caught me off guard completely".

Root was named man-of-the-series but the man-of-the-match award went to county colleague Rashid after the leg-spinner took three wickets for 49 runs in his 10 overs.

Rashid´s haul included two wickets for two runs in six balls as he dismissed both India captain Virat Kohli, who top-scored with 71, and Suresh Raina in the 31st over.

"I thought we were never on the mark as far as runs on the board were concerned, we were 25-30 short, and England were really clinical with the bat and in the field as well", he said. "He wanted to show the ball to Arun to just have a look at it after close to 45 overs had been bowled", the Indian head coach asserted.

"England know better how to play cricket here, so other teams have a big challenge to play here".
