Often dubbed the "Black Friday" of Amazon, Prime Day, which kicked off Monday at 3 p.m. ET, is a 36-hour savings event offered by the online retailer for its Prime members.
Feedvisor used its database of clients, made up of companies that sell on Amazon (AMZN), to analyze the sales trend.
"It wasn't all a walk in the (dog) park, we had a ruff start - we know some customers were temporarily unable to make purchases", Amazon said in a statement. Search results show empty lists despite stating that there are hundreds of results for the search query.
Amazon may have some run into some technical glitches during its much-anticipated Prime Day, but that didn't stop shares of the e-commerce giant from being on track to close in record territories just one day later. Hopefully, the website will be able to recover quickly so customers can enjoy the deals without frustration.
They don't call it "Prime Day" for nothing.

Prime Day is expected to be one of the biggest sales days of the year for Amazon.
Prime Day also usually helps boost the number of Prime memberships.
Amazon's annual 36-hour shopathon, an important marketing tool as well as a boost to business, had been expected to drum up US$3.4 billion of spending - up more than 40 per cent from previous year - as bargain-hunters chase promotions and discounts. According to One Click Retail, which measures ecommerce data, Amazon sold about $1 million worth of products a minute during peak time a year ago.
While Amazon has not said how many Aussies have signed up for Prime so far, Starcom said 52 per cent of visitors to the Australian site said they are likely to join Prime.
Prime Day, created by Amazon in 2015 for its 20th anniversary, has inspired other companies like Wayfair to invent their own shopping holidays. Workers in Spain are out on a three-day strike, meanwhile, while in Poland they are staging a work to rule, Verdi said.
