  • Britain's Princess Charlotte of Cambridge and Britain's Prince George of Cambridge hold hands with their father Britain's Prince William Duke of Cambridge as Britain's Prince Louis of Cambridge is carried by his mother Britain's Catherine Duchess

Neither Queen Elizabeth II nor her husband Prince Philip will attend the ceremony.

Prince Louis' christening marked the first time the family of five appeared in public together.

The ceremony was attended by many members of the British Royal family: the parents, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and the senior brother and the sister of Louis, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles and many other members of the Royal family.

The decision is understood not to have been taken on health grounds, and to have been mutually agreed by the Queen and the Cambridges some time ago.

Prince Louis of Cambridge was on his best behaviour for his christening - much to the relief of the Duchess of Cambridge.

The baby wore a handmade replica of the Royal Christening Robe, which was made in 1841 for the christening of Queen Victoria's eldest daughter, according to Kensington Palace.

Following her adorable appearance at Prince Louis' christening yesterday, Princess Charlotte brought her A-game to the Royal Air Force's 100th Anniversary celebrations in London today. She arrived holding hands with dad Prince William, who offered his guidance to the little royal when it came to greeting the Archbishop of Canterbury prior to entering the Chapel Royal of St. James' Palace.

The final guests were the young prince's six godparents and their spouses, all of whom are friends or family of the Duke and Duchess.

The garment-made of "fine Honiton lace lined with white satin"-was also worn for all subsequent royal christenings, including that of the Queen, her children and seven of her grandchildren".

Princess Charlotte had a sassy message for photographers as she left her brother's christening on Monday: "You're not coming". The main dish of tea was the wedding cake (or rather, the rest of his part), Kate and William, which they keep with 2011. Designed by Fiona Cairns, the cake consisted of 17 individual fruit cakes and had eight tiers.
